Safran in Canada
The Safran group has been operating in Canada for over 70 years. It is active in the aerospace, defense and security sectors, with more than 1,000 employees working for five companies established in the country.
Our Operations in Canada represent a solid base to provide local support to our customers in North America. Canada is home for Safran facilities dedicated to designing, producing and maintaining aircraft equipments, as well as selling and supporting defense and security systems.
Recognized leadership Safran holds seats on several executive committees and boards of professional associations such as HAC (Helicopter Association of Canada) and the CRIAQ (Quebec Aerospace Innovation and Research Consortium.) As a Defense and Security leader, Safran is part of CADSI (Canadian Association of Defense and Security Industry) and intends to be represented on the Board of Directors in 2012 after running in the elections. Regarding Aerospace, Safran is strongly involved in Aero-Montreal, the Aerospace Cluster of the Greater Montreal region, regrouping the major players of the sector. As far as R&D is concerned, Safran acts as a key player with strong involvement with Universities (École Polytechnique de Montréal and Université Sherbrooke) and Consortiums (CRIAQ, RIADI.)
Safran Canada’s core mission is to act as the coordination body between Safran, the federal and provincial governments, as well as the key players in the Aerospace, Defense and Security Industry.
