Safran in North America

Safran’s presence in North America – in the United States, Canada and Mexico – is built on relationships established over many years in civil and military aviation and security. North America is the largest base of operations for Safran, outside of Europe.

Safran’s development strategy in North America reflects the need to become a local manufacturer, operating close to its customers. Group companies are primarily located in the United States, but also in Canada and Mexico, and totaled more than 9,000 employees at December 31, 2010).

Long-term commitment
Safran continues to expand its industrial presence in North America, with the construction of new production units, joint ventures and subsidiaries, and through the acquisition of local companies. Clearly indicating our strong long-term commitment, the Group’s expanding presence in this region is characterized by earning a closer contact with its local customers.
